No.7 「Waiting」~Green Day~

Hello. I feel too tired to work recently. Stress leads to various life-style related diseases, so we should  relax to have a healthy life. Rhythmical music makes us feel better. Today, I'll introduce my favorite punk misician, "Green Day".

 

"Green Day" is a very famous punk rock band all over the world. Certainly, in Japan, they are famous, too. Their punk playing is an enchanting performance because of their melodious and catchy tunes. They mainly play up-tempo melodies, but they can play slow melodies too. At first I thought punk rock was nearly the same as heavy metal, but I misunderstood. I can feel so much better and happy when I was listen to their songs. I've been listening to their songs almost everyday since I discovered them. I think everyone should have the once-in-a-lifetime experience of listening to their songs.

This time, I'll post my favorite music to relaxed too. I hope you'll be relax if you listen to it.

This promotional video is very strange, because everyone is movement is very slow. Everything slow, but only "Green Day" is moving normally. They seem to be a enjoying themselves in the house. I don't know why other people are moving slowly and dancing. I would be ashamed of my idleness, but I want to know that someday.

"Green Day" has appeared on the TV program "Music Station" once. "Music Station" is a very famous Japanese TV program. The appearance of foreign musicians is a rare oppotunity, so I was surprised when they performed on "Music Station". "Green Day" is an American punk rock band formed in 1986 by vocalist/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist Mike Dirnt. In 1991, Tre' Cool was added to "Green Day", and Jason White joined as a guitarist supporter in 1999, He's officially joined as a "Green Day" band member in 2012, so, the number of members became four. Their debut album,"Dookie" succeeded all over the world. "Dookie" has sold almost twenty million copies. Their name recognition grew up because of "Dookie". After that, they made a new album "21th Century Breakdown". It's been almost five years and it want to the top of the charts in 21 countries. "Green Day" has came to Japan for live concents. Their punk rock band life  still continues.


I know an interesting story about them. In 2013, they were scheduled to join the Voodoo Experience, but they canceled because of  rehabilitation for drug abuse. Then "Metallica" joined the band to help "Green Day". They did a great job while part of their members were in rehabilitation. "Metallica" encouraged "Green Day", and they showed respect for them. People shouted "Encore" and everyone askd for "Metallica" to sing  "American Idiot",
but "Metallica" declined that request. Then, they performed their favorite song "Battery". This song is very cool.

No.6 「You Could Be Mine」 ~Guns N' Roses~

Hello. A recently released rental movie in Japan. It's "Terminator Genisys". It's been twelve years. So I'll introduce "Guns N' Roses". I admire "Guns N' Roses" wholeheartedly because of their performance made a profound impression. They're very famous in all over the world. Especially, their song "You Could Be Mine" is very well known in Japan, because it's used to theme song of "Terminator2". In promotional video insert a part of the movie scene and could seeing Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger. If you had watched the movie, you'll be sure to recollect that song. The promotional video is very cool. Absolutely, their song is very awesome, too.

How did you feel that? I think their playing the guitar is very well. As expected, they have played this difficult piece beautifully. So I think they're truly what one would expect of a professional band. I became want to watch "terminator2", if I listen to that song.

 They're an American hard rock band from Los Angels formed in 1985. The member is vocalist Axel Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Lzzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler. However, they changed member, and they re-formed as a new member, consists of Rose, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, drummer Frank Ferrer and keyboardist Chris Pitman.

No.5 「The Pretender」 ~Foo Fighters~

I'll introduce my favorite band, "Foo Fighters". "Foo Fighters" is an American rock band, formed in Seattle in 1994. The group name derives from the UFOs in the Second World War. The lead vocalist Dave Grohl, founded this rock band when his former band Nirvana, broke up. He was the drummer of Nirvana.

This time I'll introduse his famous song "The Pretender". The lyrics tell many stories. It can imagine a love storys or resisting authority. Dave Grohl said this when he was being interviewed. That means it has some political issue, but he didn't explain it clearly.

This song can be open to various interpretations. It may be about a romantic relationship or it maybe a protest to a higher authority. It can be said about your boss at your company, or the government or the establishment.
There are different interpretations in the lyrics. When Dave Grohl had an interview, he said the song is somehow political, but he doesn't explain the contents in detail. So it is difficult to judge how much truth there is in this interview. However, the music is very cool. This song gradually changes to up-tempo. I think it's worth a listen.

Many people have a high opinion of the songs,  "All My Life", "Best Of You", "Walk", and "Rope" and so on. Those songs livin up the atmosphere. You should listen to their songs　when you're having trouble at work. I hope you'll feel better.

No.4 「(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais」 ~The Clash~

Hello! Today, I'll introduce my best favorite musician. That is my dream musician. It's "The Clash".

"The Clash" is said to be the most successful rock'n roll band. Their career was an event that symbolizes an era. They're took their songs in various music-styls such as Reggae, Dub, Gospel, Folk, R&B, Rockabilly, Jazz, Ska, and Calypso. They made song "London Calling"  which established their original individuality and shocked the music scene.










I'll present their song,"(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais". This song gained tremendous popularity in the world. The melody is a little happy, and their voices are smoothl. Especially, this song isn't like their rock-style, and that was unusual for them, but as a result, "The Clash" received good reviews from all over the world as they turned over a new leaf. When I listen to their songs, I always listen to   "(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais". Then I'll notice a difference in its melody. The clash were an English punk rock band that formed in 1976. The Clash consisted of Joe Strummer (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Mick Jones (lead guitar, lead vocals), Paul Simonon (base guitar, vocals) and Topper Headon (drums, percussion). They continued in until1986, but disbanded.

They achieved success in the United Kingdom in 1977, when they released their debut album "The Clash".They earned high popularity in the United States in Desember 1979 when they released their song "London Calling". They became an icon for other rock bands as the greatest band. After that, their populality kept up for a while, and they made a lot of their songs and released.

Their first band name was "The 101'ers". The main bocal Joe Strummer was affected by the "Sex Pistols", when they played live with "Sex Pistols" in London. After that, he met guitarist Mick Jones. Then he gave up on his band, "The 101'ers",and he formed a new band "The Clash". The base guitar Paul Simonon was named "The Clash". They started their band life from there. However, their didn't some accident for various reasons. Finally, they hadn't continue       popularity, and they disbanded.
Their final album "Cut the Crap" ended in failure, It was one reason for disband. Their rock band life went up in smoke, Joe Strummer became a legend and he died in 2002.

They has a distinctive looks. Their impression are making up their face and wears a fanciful dress. Those means expressing about they coming from the hell. That musician is very well known in Japan, so maybe I think you've heard of their name. They're looks like "Seikima2(聖飢魔Ⅱ) in Japanese rock band but it's very difference.they also amazing rock bands, but "KISS" has a different greatness.Them songs are addictive when I listen many times. So whould you like to listen them music?



(Left)"聖飢魔Ⅱ" they're Japanese rock band. They and "KISS" may look similar, but in fact they are quite different from each other.

How did you feeling? This song made for Disco boom in 1970, and it would be gain million seller. That became to Gold Disk song as second times for them. The Gold Disk means award by to sold a five hundred thousand.I mean, that's great CD. This song is called "ラヴィンユーベイビー" by Japan,and it used commercial by Japanese company "Canon". "KISS" have a unique personality. Those makeup figures are called "persona" by them, and each members have a unique name and setting of character. Those are an unrealistic setting, them ideas are extraordinaliry happenings, but that's the beauty of it. I'll present those persona for details.

"KISS" is an American rock band formed in New York City in January 1973 by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons.They've used a lot of pyrotechnics by the enormous logo and a large scale stage. They're called "KISSARMY" by their funs.

Their catch phrase are "You Wanted the Best!? You Got the Best! The Hottest Band in the World, KISS!!(最高を求めていただろう！？お前は手に入れた！世界一熱いバンド、キッス！！) . Those phrase are used in live opening announcement from 1975. At the first time, the number of members were five, the thythm guitarist Paul Stanley, the basist Gene Simmons, the lead and rhythm guitarist Ace Frehley, the drammer Peter Criss(those members are an active). Then the band name was "WICKED LESTER", in fact the name was "RAINBOW", but they're noticed about existing same name band, so they changed they name in 1971. After that, the part of members brokeup the "KISS" for some reasons, and the members became two persons.

 

Simmons and Stanley were recruited guitarist for build up sounds, and Ace Frehley joined a band as lead guitarist. In 1973, the band name changed "KISS" by Stanley propose. At first, Simmons requested about change name "FUCK" for impact, but when they heard his opinion, even other members stopped about it."KISS" called band name got hints from Criss enrolled a before band "LIPS" and the band logo is designed by Ace Frehley. Lastly, the logo finished by Stanley revised it.

After that, "KISS" is gaining populality, besides they're made a lot of hit songs such as "Detroit Rock City", "Love Gun", "Rock And Roll All Nite", and "Beth" and so on. "KISS" are still highly regarded in the world!

 

To tell the truth, I almost listen to their music every day. Especially, when I was tired for my works.

No.2 「Californication」 ~Red Hot Chili Peppers~

I'll introduce about Red Hot Chili Peppers. They are very famous in the world. They're called "Chili Peppers" by a fan. The Chili Peppers are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1983, and their famous have still continued. The number of members are four members. Anthony is a vocals, and his voice is very beautiful. He could sing a funky, a metal style and sometimes a country tone. Today, I'll introduce them song of a country tone. The Bay City Rollers are a Scottish pop band. They formed the band in 1966. At first it was named "The Saxons". It was made up of  Leslie McKeown, Eric Faulkner, Stuart "Woody" Wood, Alan Longmuir, and Derek Longmuir. The Bey City Rollers were one of the driving forces in the Japanese music scene in 1974. The manager tried a member change to win popularity, and they finally succeeded in 1974. They got immensely popular among young people.
Especially, "Bye Bye Baby", "Saturday Night", "I Only Want to Be With You", and "Rock and Roll Love Letter" were great hits in Japan. They were called "another Beatles" by may people. Hiromi Gohhas made a cover song of their song "Bye Bye Love". Maybe I think the Bay City Rollers aren't known by young people, but I recommend them because the song brings out the nostalgia in me. I often heard them when I was a child. I have loved this song from a long time ago. It's great! I'm happy when I listen to it.
